Aqquaintances at Midnight
Sora was blind; But she wasn’t stupid. She bared her teeth and sunk them deep into the man’s hand. He let out a growl and pushed her down on the bed.
“Who are you? What do you want?” Sora said, defiantly staring into the young man’s face, even though she couldn’t see it. Pity, too, for he was extremely handsome.
“You’re not in a position to ask that, prey,” he laughed softly.
His chuckle sent a shiver down Sora’s spine.
“I’m asking again: Who the hell are you?!”
“No worries – you’ll be dead by tomorrow morning, so I guess I should tell you,” he said. He let Sora go.
She sat up, rubbing her wrists. He was extremely powerful. Sora’s keen ears picked up the sound of fluttering wings; There was only one animal that could make a sound like that.
“You have a bat?” she asked.
“Yes, quite right… I do,” he stroked the creature on his head.
“Who are you?”
“A handsome young man and a bat- traveling in the middle of the night and you can’t figure it out? Are you—“
“Blind? Yes, as a matter of fact, I am.”
