Did we win an award?? WTG Ficlets and Kevin and the gang.

Ficlets is up for two awards at the SxSW Web Awards this year – and we need an acceptance speech in case we win. Check out the blog for details.

ficlets is a great place to unwind, letting yourself get caught up inside the stories and lives of writers who not only inspire you to create, but share a part of themselves. It’s where we laugh, learn, and grow together as writers and friends through issuing challenges, building great series’, and picking out the small details in life that make us FEEL .

Being able to escape from hectic schedules, just to breathe for a little while, is the main thing I draw from ficlets. I don’t have to worry about writing pages and pages, people commenting with anger over what I’ve written, or making sense at all, really. Ficlets is just a place where I can write what I want, when I want, how I want. I can read beautifully penned stories, or attempt at writing my own. Ficlets, to me, is freedom.

Ficlets is a great inspirtation. Before ficlets, I never wrote nearly as much as I do now. Thanks to the amazing creaters and talented other authors, I have many great stories up. Most of these stories sprotted off other writers original ideas. Being aloud to bounce ideas off each other makes Ficlets and awesome place to write, read, critque and be critqued!

I agree with everything said above. Ficlets is my escape too. I like being with all these awesome people who are like me and are willing to hear my ideas. There is no negative energy, we feed off of each other. We can be silly or serious, and we can be as creative and different as we want. We can be whatever we want.We can be ourself.

ya its a place to get inspired to be free and to express ourselves. personally ficlets has really just made me feel better and made me into someone i thought i could never be (and thats good) Ive found inspiration to write and i would have never written again if it hasnt been for ficlets…. :)

Ficlets is the place where we can do basically whatever we want. We can write about the good things and the bad. You can come and make friends or just come to practice your writing. So the fact that we were nominated, that’s great. Now we just need to all pull together and vote!

Woaaaahhh. I’m so proud of the creators and memebers that contribute to ficlets. This is a wonderful site for writers, I hope WE win! I’ll keep trying my best to make sure.

ficlets is great beacuse you don’t need to write on a subject like in school. you can writer freely knowing its not graded and it is being read for pure pleasure and people aren’t looking for mistakes in it

I like your approach, Kevin – an example of how your obvious teamwork-based leadership style made ficlets what it is today. Congrats!
