An Awesome Answer
I just couldn’t do it.
“You have to,” Jess hissed, prodding me irritably. Her patience was about evaporated. I supposed I couldn’t blame her; I’d been debating whether to do this all week, and she was understandably sick of it.
“Don’t poke me.”
“Kay, he’s right there. Go! Go!”
I inched over to where Jakob stood, talking, grinning. Jeez, he was cute. My heart hammered in my chest. I couldn’t do this. I just couldn’t.
“Jakob?”
He turned around and grinned at me, a little nervously. His friends vanished. “Hi, Kayla.”
“Do you, um…” I licked my lips. “Doyouwanttogooutwithme?”
“What?”
Breathe, Kayla. “Do you want to go out with me?”
He blushed.
“Okay….when?”
“Um…” I’d never have guessed I’d make it this far. I hadn’t even considered when. “Saturday? Two?”
Jakob grinned.
I grinned back.
“Okay,” he said.
I smiled, ready to burst with happiness. “Awesome.”
