Running Away Part 3
I was ecstatic that Sylvia’s plan had fallen through. She was considerably less ecstatic and continued to rant about how she had “seen Matt out here just yesterday!”
“Let’s go to Fleming’s,” my friend Rachel offered, pointing to a classroom at the bottom of the hill. “Sure,” I replied.
Sylvia’s timing couldn’t have been more worse. As we turned the corner to head towards Mr. Fleming’s classroom, Sylvia said, “I SWEAR I saw him here yesterday!” and I stopped dead; i stopped thinking.
Upon the half-brick wall sat Matt surrounded by a ton of other students. They had been so quiet! Had I heard them, i would’ve prepared myself.
My friends came and stopped next to me, realizing who I saw. “Oh snap,” Sylvia said, and the rest of my friends giggled. He turned and was staring at me. “I… guys, I forgot something!” I whispered in what felt like a yell.
I turned as quickly as possible and almost jogged away as I felt my face burning from the pressure. He was just a boy, and I was running away.
