It's Only a Few Blocks Away
I went back to work and finished the report I was dreading for the entire week with ease. I was feeling damn good. Plus, I was going to meet Jason as the bar down the street for a couple of drinks. I felt like getting totally wasted, but I do NOT feel like having Brooke pick me up. She hates it when I get drunk.
I walked out of the building with a particular hop in my step and called Parker.
“Hey, man!” I said. “You on our way?”
“Yeah.” He said. “I’m getting into my car right now.”
“Dude, the bar is only a few blocks down.”
“Oh..See ya there.”
I chuckled to myself and closed my phone.
I walked into the, for once, non-smoke-filled bar and sat down.
Geez…Glad they passed that law in Baltimore. It’s so much nicer here now.
“Hey! Jason.” I heard a gruff voice a few feet away from me.
It was Mr. Barkley, the bartender.
“Hey!!” I said, shaking his hand. “Whast goin’ on?”
Parker is gonna love this guy!
