Two Pools of Crimson

No characteristics were visible, except a pair of red eyes, the only light emitted by the otherwise silhouetted figure.

The color, however, was not the most disturbing feature. The fact that the eyes were slitted, like a snake’s, disturbed her more.

It made sense though, for one to kill in such cold-blood… they’d have to be reptilian. The red ovals circled around until they fell on her sprawled form.

Then their eyes met. Such hatred radiated from those bottomless pools of ever flowing crimson. Fear gripped her heart, both metaphorically and literally.

She screamed as a white-hot pain seared across her chest, until she drifted off into more merciful darkness.
