Together Forever
She sat up suddenly. “I’m… I’m real again!” She ran her hands all over her face, through her hair, everywhere. “How did you do this?!” She started to cry again. But this time, it was tears of overwhelming joy.
“I don’t know,” I said, my voice rough from dehydration. “You’re the former sorceress, remember.” I tried to sit up, but I couldn’t move. “Need food,” I said. “Can you cook?”
“Well, it’s been almost 12,000 years since I did it myself.” She winked. “But I think I can figure something out.”
She helped me onto the couch and went to work. She spent the next four days nursing me back to health. (During which, I might add, she refused to get me my clothes!)
Try as we might, we just could not come up with an explanation as to how I pulled her from my mind into the real world. But we didn’t care. We were together. And would be for the rest of our lives.
