Departure
I was so spent. I could only sleep for about a half hour before I had to wake both us up and move to a new place.
We couldn’t go into the city, we would get publicly slaughtered. I found a dirty shack that we ended up staying, and parting ways for a while. By this time, Tyler was completely healed, since we’ve been running for about two months and narrowly escaping CPs.
Then, when he finally said something:
We were sitting in the shack, resting, when Tyler sighed.
“Max, I can’t take this any more.” He said quietly.
“Whaddaya mean?” I asked.
“As long as I’m with you, I’m a target.”
“Yeah, sorry.”
“It’s just….I think I should go.”
“Not without me.” I said.
“No, just me. I need to get out of Rade.”
We argued, but he ended up getting his way. We made our way out of the cabin.
“Ok, so we will meet back here in two years-” I started.
“If we are still alive.” Tyler completed.
We nodded, shook hands, and Tyler’s being flickered off into the misty distance.
