Chocolate

Helena seemed mesmerized by the music. I tapped her shoulder.

“Yeah?” She said, still looking off into space.

“You want to hear some more?” I asked.

Helena nodded, and I pulled up a countless amount of songs from my laptop. I’m pretty good with computers, so I have a nice setup.

I wonder whats going through her mind right now…

Her expression expressed awe. There was a look of familiarity in her eyes, as if the songs were written for her.

After I ran out of music, I sat up. “You want something to eat?”

She nodded and I led her into the kitchen. I opened up the pantry and pulled out one of my many chocolate bars. I handed one to her.

“How do you have this much candy?” She asked.

“Sweet tooth.” I explained. “Had it all my life I also used to be a cigarette fiend. My friends always used to say if they ever made chocolate cigarettes I’d be set for life.”

Helena laughed at my small joke, taking a bite of her chocolate bar. I don’t know whether it was the candy bar, or my joke, but she kept her smile.
