Capture, Base 1
I heard the the low hush of whispers. I waved my battalion to silence. He strafed, one by one, into the trees. I looked into the distance. I saw a small fortification in the distance. I only saw five people there, but there could be more.
I told three of my battalion to do a quick reconnaissance of the fort. They could only see five people there. I still wasn’t sure. but it was time to bring out our sniper.
Mark aimed in silence.
“Target locked.” He said.
That was our cue I directed six soldiers to flank the fort from different sides, and the rest of us to stay close behind, waiting for a backup message.
Mark fired and hit all of the acquired targets. I heard an explosion, a yell, and I waited in tense silence for a distress call.
Fort captured, sir I heard over my radio.
I sighed with relief.
“Affirmative, remain in your position, the rest of us will be there soon” I radioed back.
“Move out!” I called, and we all headed to our newly acquired base.
