“You realize Brian is my boyfriend?” Madison snapped.

Lilly shrugged and said, “Not much of a boyfriend if he asked me.”

“Oh whatever! We’ll just have to see at the dance who Brian’s really after. See, the truth is, Brian is trying to make me jealous by getting with you.”

“Looks like it’s working.” Kate interrupted and Madison sent daggers with her eyes.

“Well, you know what? I think I’ll just go and talk to Brian right now. And he’ll just have to say that the truth is that he misses me and he wants to get back together.”

Lilly and Kate smirked. “Madison, okay, you know what? Go ahead in live in your fantasy world of Brian because you know it’s not true. He dumped you for me.” Kate grabbed Lilly’s arm and pulled her down the hallway.

“That was too close.” Kate whispered.

“What? What are you talking about?” Lilly stuttered.

“Brian was coming back down the hall.” Kate told her, her eyes wide with relief that they missed him. Always need to wonder what he was going to say.
