I crawled to the end of the tunnel. I listened tensely at the next hatch door. I didn’t hear anyone.

As quietly as I could, I opened the hatch door and climbed up. All of the sudden, I heard voices coming from the main floor.

“Hey?” I heard a voice from upstairs. “You hear something down there?”

“I don’t know, go check.”

I heard footsteps on the stairs.

I quickly jumped into the shadows, I grabbed the handle of my off-ed energy sword. I saw a tall, well-armored man looking around in the room. He turned around to leave.

I got the sensation similar to a tendon snapping, but in my mind. I stepped forward, and in a flash of screaming hot plasma, I sliced the opposing soldier right down the middle.
