Nice thoughtful take on a moment in time for a timeless individual. Very Dr. Who. The wording in that fourth paragraph wound up a little awkward maybe.

Coming from someone who is quite bothered at the thought of losing loved ones, I agree that kind of immortality (watching everyone else die) would be torturous.

Minor edits helped quite a bit on that fourth.

This was haunting. It made me think about my own mortality, which I normally don’t like to do. Very interesting.
