I love it, an alternate thread that also encompasses the ‘dream by day’ (great phrasing) discussion on the ficlets blog board. And, thank goodness I work on the first floor of my building. Because there’s nothing like busy-work to make you want to jump out a window.
Can’t imagine a better feeling than getting out of this. Makes me think of the video to “Owner of a Lonely Heart” when the guy swan dives from the top of a building and turns into a bird. Because I’m random, is why.
Oh, I love that song! The video’s pretty cool, too. This has some great descriptions, I could totally visualize it, and kudos for linking it back to Kevin’s blog about day dreams. LoA
I absolutely loved the little snippets of mesmerizing description you threw in in just the right places: like, “After a bit more of a pause than I was comfortable with this whithered shrew standing over my cubicle I deigned to ask…” and the one about jumping along the buildings. that can be the simplest, yet coolest dream by day.
Oh dear…our classroom is on the top floor with big windows that are almost always open. They’re just beckoning to me, yearning to be stared out of. Well, at least better than jumped out of. Great story!
