The journey continues

Two hours.

I pondered for a moment, trying to figure out for sure what my next move should be. Did I listen to the guy on the other end of the phone? He did seem to mean business. Did I just go home and pull the covers over my head?

If you do what you did, you get what you got.

Still unsure if I was doing the right thing, I made my way to the restaurant – the one where I had had my last meal before managing to deposit the money I had won right back into the Casino that I had gotten it from.

Pulling the car into park, I climbed out, making my way up the short staircase. Wiping my hand onto my pants to clear the sweat that had formed on them, I walked inside.

Right there, at the same table I had sat at, was the same food order I had had that day. And sitting at the table, was a man that I didn’t recognize.

I should have run.

Instead, I sat down.
