The Everlasting Hurricane PART 4

I got my belongings together and handed them to dad who stuffed them in the trunk.
“Mom.” I said nervously. “Will the house be o.k.? It’s right on the water,” I said. Mom smiled weakly and said
“Whatever happens we’ll all be together,”. I put on a reassured look on my face even though I felt completely horrible. She knew the truth and thought I couldn’t handle it. I got into the car and shut the door behind me. I watched my house disappear in the distance. Will this be the last goodbye? Will I ever be able to go home again? I fell asleep, right at that moment.
I was woken up to an explosion. Not an explosion of a bomb but an explosion of fierce winds and crackling thunder. I looked over at mom and dad. They were looking over at me, too. We were pulled up in front my school.
“What are we doing here” I asked.
“This was the closest and safest place we could find” said mom.
“Great” I said full of nothing but pure enthusiasm.
