Macy 58: Finally

“I…” Macy whispered as Macon began to go away.

“You what?” he snapped.

Derrick interrupted, “Hey don’t talk to her like that.”

“Calm down man. No matter what I do, she won’t do anything.”

“She’s not like that.” Derrick said.

“Quit talking like I’m not standing here! I’m not some child!” Macy yelled at he both of them.

Macon continued, “I bet if I just touched her, she wouldn’t do anything.”

“Shut up Macon. She’s not an experiment.” Derrick said.

“Well I’ll try anyway.” Macon marched forward quickly, brushing Macy’s cheek. She merely flinched.

“Macon don’t.” Macy warned.

“If you don’t want me to, why aren’t you moving away?” His hand trailed down to her shoulder and Derrick stepped forward. Macy stopped him with her eyes, like all those days ago in her meadow.

Macy explained, “Unfortunately I’ve learned that it hurts worst to move away.”

“Wow, what a theory.” Macon laughed, shifting away. “Well you get to be happy. Finally. Because you won’t be seeing me for a while.”
