The bell rang and I got out of my seat slowly. I didn’t want to run into Samantha, today. So, I stayed in my seat acting like I was a total moron. Just sitting there acting like the bell hadn’t rung. Then, the teacher, Mrs. Riley came over.
“Is something bothering you Julia?” she asked. Then, the knot in my stomach got tighter.
“No, not at all. I just didn’t hear the bell ring, sorry,” I said. Then, I picked up my books and left. I knew Mrs. Riley could see I was worried. My face was pale and my eyes looked very glassy. I walked down to my locker. I was a total mess. I was worried and confused and just not aware of what was going to happen. I twisted in my combination and put all my books in. My head was throbbing. I grabbed my lunch and then Denise came over and I didn’t even realize.
“Hey, what’s up?” I yelped and slammed my locker shut.
“Sorry,” Denise said. I gripped tightly onto my lunch and started to walk towards the cafeteria. Then, I stopped dead in my tracks and Denise banged into me. It was…
