William staggered. Visibly. Ephraim Smith put out an anxious hand. “Hey man, you ok?”
William gasped, blinked … “Sorry, haven’t been so well lately,” he mumbled hastily. “I’ve only heard of microbots, thought they were years away.” he eagerly changed the subject, still trying to decide if he’d actually seen . . .
“The NDA you signed covers more than you think.” Smith’s voice was grave again. “Have you heard of the Microsensor Array Project too?”
“Yes”, William replied, and gulped quietly as he tried to regain composure, focusing on the secrets being revealed. “Is – is that operational too?”
Detective West’s voice: “Only limited strategic deployment – for special cases like this.”
Beyond the glass, the little bot was projecting a sharp image on the wall opposite the subject. William echoed the subject’s gasp as he recognised the back of the man’s head. A slight shift – and a widescreen monitor came into view.
“Smile, you’re on camera”, said Lee.
The suspect slumped in defeat.
