There was a knock on the cabin door, but Luke couldn’t tear his eyes away from the scene unfolding before him. His mind could not rationalize the situation, and he didn’t know how to deal with it.
The door burst open and his co-pilot burst in, face white with terror.
The whole situation was surreal. Luke began to experience a pounding sensation in his ears, and a second later he realized that what he was hearing was his own pulse.
” What the hell are you doing back here? ” the co-pilot hissed through clenched teeth, eyes darting back and forth between the myriad of controls on the central pannel.
The plane began to tilt forward, gently, at first, and then more quickly, more frighteningly. Soon, there would be oxygen masks dropping in the passenger compartments and -
Ah, there it was, the first scream.
The co-pilot stared in terror at the wash of blue in front of the glass, and came the the realization that he was not looking at the sky, but at the ocean.
And it was approaching fast.
