Seeing Your Ex
“Well, see what happened was,” Brian began, “We were in her driveway honking the horn and no one came out. So I,” more snickers, “got out and rang the doorbell. Someone, I guess her dad, opened the door, but I wasn’t looing at him. There was Madison behind him, her back to us, with um these huge granny panties on. And um then she turned around.”
Lily cut him off, “Enough said.” And the guys erupted into laughter again. “So because of that, she didn’t want to ride with us?”
“Yeah,” Brian continued, “She knew one of the guys would end up telling you.” He finally allowed himself to laugh at this embarrassing joke.
“She was right!” chuckled one of the guys, seated next to Lily. He smelled like smoke and looked horrible but he was there. It took Lily a minute to realize he was Patrick from her middle school.
“Patrick!” she gushed.
“Hi, I thought you’d never recognize me.” The limo had gone quiet except for the two of them. “Then again, I guess it’s not a great surprise to see your ex-boyfriend.”
