She Knew the Truth 17
“Who is it, Mr. Gainy?” asked mom. Her eyes widened.
“Well, it was Katie!” said Mr. Gainy. Katie, my old preschool friend. We were best friends way back then and we just grew apart. We said hi in all but we were not best friends what so ever. He must spy on my 24/7 if he knew I was once best friends with Katie!
“You mean Katie Berry?” asked mom. She remembered her, I guess.
“Yes, yes. Katie Berry. I saw it all!” said Mr. Gainy. That was a really crappy lie. Katie is a sweet, innocent girl who would never do anything to harm a fly. And she would just come up and stuff me in a janitor’s closet? Wow.
“Katie Berry? Are you sure? She wouldn’t harm a fly!” said mom.
“I saw it all,” said Mr. Gainy. I sat there, silent. He had no clue who Kate Berry even was! I was shocked. Wow. Mom complained to Mr. Gainy about how terrible this was and then she just took me home.
“I am calling her mother right away!” said mom in the car. She’ll be put on the naughty step for something she didn’t even do!
