As John awaited information regarding his father’s will, he was surprised to receive a mysterious package supposedly from his father. The package was simply a plain manila envelope with his address scribbled on the front. Inside, there were only four items. The first was a note. It read “Dear John, Use these well. They are the secret to my success. Love, Dadâ€?. John groped around inside the envelope and pulled out the remaining three items: a pair of sunglasses, a ballpoint pen, and a candy bar. What am I supposed to do with these? John thought. What does he mean by “use them wellâ€?? How can these be the secret to Dad’s success? John’s head buzzed with questions that only Victor Marx would have been able to answer.

Just then, John felt as though someone were standing right behind him. He cautiously turned around, only to find that no one was there. Suddenly, a loud thud and a sharp cry of pain echoed throughout the house. John Marx was found dead the next morning.
