Then, I heard a knock on the door.
“Come in” I squeaked. It was Mrs. Jonas.
“Hello, Jess!” she said happily. “Can we talk?”
“Yeah, absolutely!” I said. Did I do something?
“Well, Nick has been acting very weird lately. I don’t know why or how but I was wondering, do you have any idea why?” I wanted to say he was in love with me but this was his mom. It would be plainly embarrassing if someone just told my mom “Oh, your daughter is just in love with me! No biggy!”.
“I really don’t know. I’ll talk to him,” I said.
“Thanks a bunch!” said Mrs. Jonas as she left the room. I sighed. Nick was gone for the night so there was only one thing to do. Play video games with Joe.
“Beat that!” Joe laughed as he shot my monkey in the head with a gun. We were playing “Monkeys n’ Guns”. It was pretty boring but Joe could make anything fun.
“Shoot!” I said as I dropped the fake gun.
Ha!” said Joe. He rolled back hysterical laughing.
“I suck and you knew that!” Joe smiled.
“Play again?” I asked. Joe nodded.
