My Idea
I took a deep breath, “I haven’t done my job,” I hissed, “because I had an idea.”
“An idea,” Melisizwe said skeptically.
“Yes,” I replied stonily, “An idea.”
“And this idea was what exactly? Killing as many people as possible? Creating trouble for us?” Melisizwe suggested sarcastically.
I momentarily lost my control, I dropped on all fours and let out a horrendous growl/ roar, furious at the suggestion that I did not support them.
Ranulf, ever the most diplomatic, interrupted, “Of course not Melisizwe, you should know better than to suggest such a thing. I am sure Fae has a perfectly logical reason to keep the Assassin. Fae?” He looked at me expectantly.
I concentrated on relaxing my position and standing upright again, it was difficult, due to how tense everyone was right now. The emotions were extremely bothersome to deal with.
“My idea,” I said slowly, letting the angry haze fade and ignoring the tenseness of the situation, “Is to keep this Assassin, so we can find a way to cure the Curse.”
