Wow, interesting! Up until now I had only thought of the village as a dungeon in the metaphorical sense. I love the idea that they were serving a sentence for some kind of crime. Awesome stuff! :]
I really like how the duality component of the story is coming out. Two men. Two “worlds”. The dungeon has but one lock, hidden away. The castle is filled with them. Roland starts to forget the dungeon right away. Jacques can’t wrap his mind around the castle (and judging from his HELP ! note, probably wants to go back downstairs). Cool stuff.
Yes, it does. Better and better with each installment. I also love the duality going on here and wonder which of the two is more dangerous to Vale. And, by extension, which might find himself in a bigger pickle.
