“Hologram,” he said, sensing Dreanna’s desire to run. “Nothing to fear. Its the interface for the city’s central computer. The obelisk’s the master terminal.”
“Welcome to Ruku Ancient God. How can I help you?”
“What happened here?”
“Happened? Whatever do you mean?”
“This!” said Eric gesturing to the bodies around him. “They’re all dead!”
“Dead? Really? No. Perhaps sleeping?”
“No dead! I DEMAND you tell me what has happened now!” His voice loud, otherworldly. It rolled like thunder shaking the very ground beneath Dreanna’s feet.
“Dead sleeping, sleeping dead. Is it real, or in my head?” the Avatar replied.
Faster than thought his power surged forward, tearing at the construct, flowing through every circuit and processor.
It’s image flickered and it seized wildly, head snapping back, eyes rolling. It made a sick, gurgling noise, then laughed madly.
“What I know, cannot tell, this was heaven now is hell!”
It stared directly at Dreanna, cold, piercing. “We’ve been expecting you for SO long now.”
