That Eric, sure doesn’t take kindly to the unknown. And this obelisk reminds me of something/someone. Blaine, the monorail train from The Wastelands maybe?
kaellinn18, Thanks for the catch… I have the worst habit of typing “you” for “your” and “though” for “thought”. I’ll read em correctly until someone points it out. Glad you are enjoying the series.<br />John – I’ve not come across “Blaine” or “The Wastelands” before… have to look those up. Eric is just starting to show his true nature. :)
@Kev, The Wastelands is the third book in Stephen King’s Dark Tower series. Blaine is a psychotic AI that asks its passengers riddles that they must answer correctly, or face certain death. I don’t think you’ve copied the character, I just got that feel from the obelisk speaking in riddling rhyme. And you should definitely check out The Dark Tower series. I think it’s King’s best work.
Thanks for the info John. :) I’ve not read in King in a long time. BTW , I’ve heard from many a person that “Dark Tower” is his best work… gonna have to read it now.
The Dark Tower is easily his best work. And the obelisk does sort of remind me of Blaine now that I think of it. Very interesting web you are spinning.
