Wrap Around: Out-of-Order Challenge
“You do realize how unbelievably evil you are, don’t you? It’s hard to miss. Maybe not for others, but for you. You know what you do and know full well how little you try to rationalize it. In fact, you strive to not rationalize, forever fighting that natural urge to justify your behavior while giving in to every other urge and desire. It’d be repulsive if it wasn’t so damn sad. You best pray someone else puts you out of your misery during one of your brief moments of penitence and contrition.”
She said it. But it wasn’t just that she said it but how. You might read the words and think of an accusatory or even an angry tone.
She wasn’t angry. I suppose she had every right to be. This wasn’t the first time. It wouldn’t be the last. Funny how time can seem to wrap around itself, or at least around us and our tragically human follies.
