Seriously, can someone tell me what the heck “haber” means? I’ve been wondering since the first time I heard that song.

I think it’s interesting how many of the songs are covers, kind of a testament to themes and ideas being applicable across generations…you just have to dress ‘em up a bit differently is all. That is assuming you’re in a different generation than, well, me.

Actually, except for the Forrest Gump theme, which would go over the title sequence, these are all cover versions of 80’s songs, which were a big part of my formative years… more to come…

Next “haber” ;).. had to look it up. :D Here’s what I found. First of all: “The Haber process is the nitrogen fixation reaction of nitrogen and hydrogen, over an iron substrate, to produce ammonia.” Don’t think I want anyone “habering” to me. Next up: “Haber an auxiliary verb; can mean “there is” or “there are.” It is also used in the phrase hay que, meaning “it is necessary.” Obviously Spanish and still no help as far as the lyrics are concerned. ;D

“Haber” must have some other meaning in Scottish, as the Proclaimers were (are?) a Scottish group…
