Finding a New Place
John rolled his eyes and cleaned the mess the pickles had made out of the trunk. “Alright we should get going again. They’re probably still following us.”
“Duh.” Was Ally’s response as she got in the car.
John sighed. “This should be an interesting day.” He said to himself as he got in the car and drove off.
A few hours later John pulled into the drive way of what looked to be an abandoned house. “Stay in the car, Ally. I’ll check it out.”
“No way am I staying here by myself. I’m going with you.” She replied stubbornly as she got out of the car and stood next to him.
John sighed. “Alright. Come on.” The two of them cautiously walked into the house and looked around. It was old and dark and the house smelled of mold, but they were happy to find any place to stay in at all.
Ally saw a stairwell and started walking up stairs. “Ally, be careful.” John said as he followed her.
“It’s fine, John. The stairs seem to be sturdy—” She screamed as the stairs went out from under her foot.
