Keep on Truckin' (part 2)
Presently my soul grew stronger, so denying curiosity no longer
I opened up my car door, pressing to pop the trunk’s door
I, curious to find the source of bumping
opened the trunk, my heart a-thumping
And found nothing, nothing but my trunk to explore
So that was it, and nothing more, I had done nothing the night before
Nothing that I could deplore
As I stared along the road in darkness, to more bumping I did hearken
Was there more bumping? The bumping went on more
On and on it went, from whence was this sound sent?
So went the bumping, incessantly thumping, rumbling my core
Thus the thumping, bumping was rattling my core
And it went on ever more and more
So I looked into my rearview mirror, and that behind me did come nearer
As the truck behind me neared, I learned what it was I feared
I feared the thumping that the stereo bass was bumping, that was all I feared
The thumping of that stereo’s bass bumping,
This I feared, and nothing more.
