Ah, lots of eights in there. Neat take on the challenge in a simple story that still left me wondering why he had just drunk 18 bottles of water. That’s not healthy!

Let’s hope the poor guy is not on E – that is supposed to make you thirsty enough to drink 18 bottles of water :-D

I also like how you told us that it was an 18 wheeler by the number that passed the curb, and not outright.

Yeah, the number I was going for was 18 but only mentioned it outright once with the bottles of water. In total, if you take out things like decimal places and zero’s, theres 8 mentions of 18.

Also, and this is accidental, but if you include blank lines between paragraphs, the story is 18-lines long as well.

I like this piece a lot. As others said before me, very whimsical and creative. I haven’t read too many stories from this challenge yet, but this was definitely a fun play on numbers and their relationships.
