I am Emo
I was having difficulty breathing, much less thinking. His face was so close to mine and I didn’t have any more room to retreat to.
He glanced at Jake and Anima, grinned, and turned back to me, “Am I distracting you?”
“Yes,” I muttered, unthinkingly.
He grinned, “Since you’re already distracted, would you mind if I distracted you some more?”
God, he was persistent. Some perverse, absurd side of me suddenly wanted to scream yes and push myself into him, pressing my mouth against his and breath in that sweet, minty scent. My hands twitched as I stared at him, the room spinning and filled with the flashing lights from the screen. I shook my head, trying to clear it.
He took this as a no. He slowly sat back in his seat and turned his face away from me. He was no longer smiling. I struggled to keep myself from panting as my head slowly began to clear again.
This had to be some kind of strange reaction to the food or something, because I was not acting like myself. Jesse was suddenly rather jittery.
