I am Jock
I should have known better. I knew that she was different, but I tried the same old crap. I scowled, annoyed with myself. I fiddled with my drink, my knee bopping up and down as I waited for the movie to end.It was unbearably frustrating. She was so close, but there was nothing I could do.She was sliding glances at me that she meant to be subtle, but I didn’t know if this was a good or a bad thing. As I ran my hand through my hair again, a loud sigh came from my left. I glanced over at Ceirra, she was frowning at me.
“What?” I asked, leaning forward, ever hopeful.
“If you like the movie so much why don’t you watch it instead of fidgeting?” she suggested shrewdly.
Oh well, honesty check. “I wasn’t really referring to the movie.”
Her lip curled, “Of course not.”
I sighed, muttering, “It isn’t my fault you’re so damn good looking.”
She stared at me for a second, and I stared back. I slowly lifted one hand and tentatively pushed her hair behind one ear. I was surprised to hear her breathing was uneven.
