My head snapped up and I sloppily push my now greays bangs out of my black eyes. I wiped furiously at the tears I didn’t cry. And then I saw him.
There was a hunger in my bones that I had never felt before. I had felt lust and lack of love and hunger for bloodshed.. but never this.
Marl grabbed my fist anxiously, “Breathe, Helena.”
“You,” I whispered furious to Marl, “really should stay away.”
