The Dove of Steel (26)

“Yes, I will recover Atomos, vanquish Animus, and free myself of my rage forever.”

“7” would have smiled had he had a face, yet he could not, so he merely said in his normal superior tone,

“Very well Isaac. Yet I have another mandate for you.”

Isaac merely stayed quiet, pondering “7”’s intentions.

“I want you to bring Linda with you.”

Isaac again was taken back, but then after logically thinking replied,

“So that incase one goes down, the other can fill in the shoes of the task?”

“Correct. You are a quick one Isaac. Now, are you ready? Or is there some preparation that you must make?”

Isaac shook his head and said,

“I am ready.”

To this the man nodded and suddenly, a door behind Isaac and Linda appeared, made of simple wood. There was no wall to which it was attached, just a door waiting to be opened.

Isaac approached the door, cautiously, slowly, with Linda following timidly behind him. Isaac slowly stretched out his arm, put his hand to the door, and pushed with all his might, opening the door.
