BTW … Oh how I loved Omni Magazine! Anyone else here remember them?

One more thing… (nods to Steve Jobs). I truly have no direction for this series, so if anyone wants to jump in and write a prequel/sequel please have at it!

I don’t remember Omni Magazine. But I do remember Duran Duran! The music was the best!! Something for everyone. Who really needs direction when wandering through the eighties? This is great… just waiting for the perfect opportunity (and quiet concentration time) to add a sequel. :D

Not sure I would use my last few spendable bills to buy a magazine. Although I’m sure my decision process would be a little off-kilter after traveling back in time 24 years.

I feel like I might have gotten a little bit of a nod for my Gibsonian (can I say Gibsonian?) series on ficlets. Maybe I’m just getting an ego.

@Six Feet, John’s right. BTW – obviously no one here was a science, sci-fi and computer geek during the 80’s (I was)… Omni was the WIRED magazine of its time. Oh and I tickled myself with the FBI line… no who’s getting an ego :)

I wasn’t a computer geek until the 90s. I did have a TRS -80 that used audio cassette as a storage medium back in the early 80s though. But I was more interested in the games on my Atari, NES , and later Commodore 64, than actually playing with the computer.
The only magazines I read back then were wrestling magazines, and the Playboys I found in my dad’s closet.

@John- Ha… shout out to Dad’s Playboys. Sad thing is that would probably be labeled sexual abuse now… in our day it was just sex education
