Remembering Finances

I was chatting with Sharon over some Ginkgo (I will never tire of the stuff). I had three days until Christmas and I had nothing for either of them. (Rendor was done though, I like Mooses (Meece?) and I found an ornament with a Police Moose on it. It was stupid but I didn’t know Rendor so I figured, why not?). Sharon is very interesting to talk to; the conversations can tip from extremely trivial to deep consternation in an instant.
“Paige, how are you holding up with everything?” she asked, leaning in.
I considered lying, but then sighed, “Well, the college fund is disappearing quickly, though I’m doing double shifts down at the clothing store. I’m considering taking another job. The heating bill is ridiculous. I’d no idea it could get so cold around here. I’m hoping Dad will give in soon and lend me some money,” I grimaced.
She sighed, “I don’t like you using your college fund…”
“I’m not worried about college so much, just making it there. Then I can sell the house. Dad’ll forgive me by then.”
