The flower-eating thing was weird.

You don’t underdstand, it isn’t the fact that he ate the flower, it’s the fact that he was wicked and vile.

I still have the visual in my mind’s eye, and I’m sticking with weird.

Plus, I didn’t read it as him being wicked & vile – that’s stated in the fact that he’s a prison guard at a Concentration Camp. My reading on it was: The flower was yellow, a color usually symbolic of hope, so by eating that, it’s like he was trying to digest hope.

Plus, it’s an odd and disturbing image.
