Crash World
The rest went by so quickly. It was all sort of a blur. Summer came and passed and high school came. That night, I tried to get out of the room again and again, but Josh would push me into the wall over and over again…
I finally got out of there when Mallory came looking for me. I was bawling and bruised by then and when she opened the door, Josh quickly stepped aside and tried to make it look like nothing was going on.
I spent the night at Mallory’s that night as it was a Friday night.
When high school came, I saw that Josh was not at the same high school anymore and that he had transferred that summer.
I could have pressed charges against him or even just let him kiss me and pretend everything was okay, but I didn’t.
That night changed everything for me and I have never been able to fully erase it from my memory…
“Earth to Callie,” Mallory said.
I shook those thoughts away and realized I had totally zoned out.
“Sorry,” I apologized, “Mal, I really can’t go tomorrow.”
She nodded, “I understand.”
