Calling You
The next night, while Mallory was at her brother’s game, I was sitting at home flipping through an old magazine in bed. I was extremely bored and was about to resort to calling Mallory before remembering where she was. I looked through my contact list on my phone and three names made me stop and think to maybe call them to hang out.
The first was Tishley. She was always up for a good time, but maybe too good of a time. So I decided not to call her.
The second was Tyler. I don’t know if he knew that I had his number and I didn’t want to freak him out if he didn’t know who was calling him and how I’d gotten his number so he was a no, too.
Third, was Mitch. He was on the list under West. I thought for a moment that he might be the best choice. I hadn’t talked to him in such a long time. Not since the party the year before, actually. He went to the same high school as me and he was in three of my classes, but we just never really crossed paths.
So I pressed the little green glowing button that said SEND .
