Talk
The phone rang four times before Mitch answered.
“Hello?”
“Hey, let’s hang out,” I said straight away.
“Who is this?” he asked.
I wasn’t all too suprised he asked this, though, since I hadn’t talked to him in so long, “Callie Winston.”
“Wow, hey,” he sounded shocked, “I haven’t heard from you in awhile.”
“I know,” I told him, “so let’s hang out. You know, catch up?”
“Uh, yeah, sure, where do you want to meet?” he asked.
“Uhm, can you get a ride over here?” I inquired.
“To your house?” he asked.
“Yeah, we can watch a movie or something,” I suggested.
“Yeah, sure, I’ll be there in like ten minutes,” he said.
“Okay, I’ll see you then,” he told me.
We hung up and he was at my house in ten minutes.
When he got there, I put in Employee of the Month as we sat back with some popcorn. We’d both already seen the movie before and so we switched to just talking to each other.
It was nice, though, and it seemed like the best and right thing to do at the time instead of watching the movie, was to talk.
