Fools in Love
Prandi was smiling at him with the warmest of expressions, her dark eyes glittering up at him. Jameson couldn’t believe she was smiling just for him.
Old Bess was wrestling with a dusty champagne bottle. “I’ve been waiting for the right occasion just to bust open this puppy. It looks like just the occasion has arrived!”
Karl meanwhile had fed some coins into the jukebox and the unlikely voice of Axl Rose could soon be heard. Everyone turned to stare at him and he shrugged, muttering, “What? I really like Guns and Roses, all right?”
Sassy cuddled closer to Old Bess, glaring at Jameson. The animosity was still there, but at least she was keeping her cool. Jameson led Prandi to one of the farther bar stools anyways, just in case.
Old Bess wriggled out of Sassy’s claws and came over to where Jameson and Prandi were. “I had a feeling about this girl. I know you said she was just a friend, but it was the way you said her name. I guess I’m not surprised. We’re all fools in love, after all!”
