Electra

Standing alone, Mina wondered how she had let herself follow him. Now she was in these woods alone, as the sun set. She had no idea where she was, so she sat down on the lush grass beneath her to find a plan.

Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a flash of lily-white skin through the trees. Her immediate thought was of the man in the meadow, and before she knew what she was doing, she was up and giving chase. In her head, she heard the slow melodic tune of the syrinx as it floated before her moving faster and always away.

She stumbled over roots as she tried to follow the tiny slivers of a skin, glowing white as the moon through the trees. But soon, as with the man, she lost her view, and slowed, finding herself deeper into the woods, any last hope of light now fading from the sky.

Turning in a slow circle, she searched for any small sign of life, hoping to find her way home or at least to something familiar. But then she saw the glimmering light of a fire.
