Hey Me, It's You: Part 6
“Sleepover?” asked Brianna as she took a sip of her smoothie.
“Yeah, just for tonight!”
“Sounds cool, but if you don’t mind me asking, why?” I had to think fast.
“Because! My parents got into a big argument about what to get me for my birthday! It happens every year, I hate it! But I always end up getting good gifts!” I ended up sounding more selfish than I really was. It worked, though.
“Okay, we should get back to your house to get your stuff.” As soon as those words left Brianna’s mouth my phone started to vibrate. I took it out and Brianna’s jaw dropped. I looked at the screen.
Do not go home! Don’t even get your stuff! No! Never! Go back to her house and do not go home until tomorrow!
“No!” I yelped.
“No what?”
“We can’t go back to my house!”
“Why?”
“Because, um mm, no one’s home!”
“I thought you said your parents were arguing,”.
“That doesn’t start until later, now, let’s get back to your house!” I grabbed Brianna’s hand and we raced towards the doors. Was anyone supposed to find out about my phone?
