Dark Threats
“Yes…it is true, my dear. For when Urania speaks, she speaks true. Her destiny is near as heavy as yours-she speaks only of the stars and their dark portends. It is as she says. You are she,” Clio said sadly, stepping slowly towards Mina.
“No…” Mina said again, this time sounding less convinced.
“Yes, child,” said Thalia, looking down at her pityingly.” Yes, it is true. You must believe. You do believe. I see it in your face.”
“No, I won’t,” Mina said, turning to run away from them. In her heart, she saw that they believed what they said…but she couldn’t believe it. She had to run, to run home to her mother, to stay where she was safe. Where she meant nothing.
“Yes,” said Melpomene, stepping closer and grabbing her by the arm .”For the stars speak true. You must help us…for your own sake. Help or be forsaken by the Gods and by the world.”
And as Mina stared into Melopmene’s dark eyes, she knew it was true. She must stay or be forever forsaken by the world.
