Colorado part 2: A Long Ride There
After I made sure for the fourth time I had everything packed and I told myself once again that I really did overpack…. I was told to put my luggage into the RV so we could finally leave on our 16 hour journey of a drive. There was still one more little surprise that I had yet to find out about, though. My brother’s friend, Sheldon, was also coming along with us on what I wished was going to be a peaceful drive. Lucky for my best friend, Kacie Alling, she was flying.
Suddenly, I found myself sitting in a buttery smooth leather seat with my seatbelt fastened and two pre-pubescent boys sitting next to me. The RV started its engine and headed down the street. It felt more as if it were rolling because of its 25 foot length. And now I realized that my fear of dying from before was actually necessary to have. But a few minutes later, I saw that I was still alive and on the freeway at the same time.
I looked out the window and realized this was going to be a long ride.
I sighed, only 15.5 more hours to go.
