The Peasant Part 3
“How should I bloody know? I’m just a guard for goodness’ sake!â? I rolled my eyes. “Well at least tell which way they went with my daughter.â? “They went that way,â? he said, pointing to the west. “Thank you. Good day sir,â? I said running. “Katherine!â? I screamed ahead of me.I ran to the end of the street and turned. I saw her struggling to get away from the man. But she was in shackles. A four year old in shackles just shows how terrible the world truly is. I ran up to him and spun him around. “Can I help you sir?â? he said angrily. “Father!â? Katherine yelled to me. I bent down to hug her and the man slapped me. “I am under court order to seize this child, and I think I am for you too,â? he said with a growl. He showed me a sketch of myself, yet my facial hair was a great deal shorter. “I must not have seen you, but this little girl was wandering. You both were caught foraging through rubbish, and stealing important information of the queen’s order.â? he said and grabbed my wrist.
