The Peasant Part 4

“What is left of a world in which a father cannot see his own daughter?â€? I snapped. He let go and struck me again. Katherine screamed. I popped him in straight the face. The man scooped her up and ran off with her. “Stop! That’s my daughter!â€? I yelled and ran after him. As I turned the corner he stopped and turned to face his right. He faced me again, Katherine screaming in his arms. He ran and then stopped on a bridge. He looked at me, and held Katherine up over the side. I rushed over to him and as I reached out for his arm, he let go. “Katherine screamed as she fell with a sickening splash. I saw her left arm hit a rock and it twisted in an unnatural way. I winced to see her in such unbearable pain. I rushed down to get her, but guards tackled me before I could. They carried me off to the prison and Katherine off to the medical facilities.
